A lovely woman who I have become friends with tagged me in a blog tour. This tour is different from other blog tours that I have participated in and it sounded like a ton of fun so of course I said YES! Cara is the lovely woman who thought of me to participate in this tour. You can find Cara here and you are not going to want to miss out on all her creative awesomeness!
Well here it goes, in this tour you will find out a little more about me:
Question #1: What am I working on?
I am actually working on two things right now. The first thing is getting another tutorial up about the picstitch app and I am working on creating a new challenge site with some fantastic ladies that I just can’t wait to share with all of you. I also just recently finished a tutorial about the big lens app. The big lens app is currently one of my absolute favorite apps and I managed to score it for free on one of my trips to Starbucks! You can watch the big lens tutorial now and for more tutorials you can subscribe to my YouTube channel by clicking here.
Question #2: How does my work differ from others in its genre?
Well that is an easy question for me as my work is different from others because I focus on teaching people how to get their photos off of their phones and into albums quickly and easily. The majority of my photos these days are taken with my iPhone and some of them come from my honey’s phone as well. My whole point is this, we all take these photos but if they just sit on our phones what good are they? That’s where I come in. I want to motivate you to get your photos off of your phones and into albums so that you can enjoy all those photos that you take on a regular basis. One of my favorite ways of collecting photos is using the collect app. I love this app because it allows me to capture my photo and journaling all in one spot. I did a tutorial on this app as well which you can find on my YouTube channel here.
Question #3: Why do I create/write what I do?
I believe that I answered some of this in question #2, which is I want to help others get their photos off of their phones and into albums. I am very passionate about this because I believe it’s important to save our memories for our family. My children love to look at the albums that I have made and I have no doubt that they will love them when I am no longer here as well. I know that may sound a little morbid but lets face it I won’t be here forever and who knows one day the Zombie apocalypse may just happen as my honey keeps warning me about. I think it’s time to cut him off from watching the Walking Dead! The other reason why I do what I do is simply because I love it. Scrapbooking and getting creative is my outlet, it is my hobby and it is my escape. If I didn’t have it I would probably go crazy especially considering I am now a stay at home mommy with three children. I manage to keep my layouts simple but creative at the same time which is a happy median for me.
Question #4: How does your writing/creating process work?
For me its pretty simple. My layouts are created by picking the photos and then picking paper and then pretty much just slapping them on the paper and finding some embellishments. Since I have joined Close To My Heart I have managed to get a little more creative because of these amazing workshops on the go that they have. Workshops on the go tell me exactly how to cut my paper and where to put the paper and my photos. I basically get sketches with the exact dimensions of all the papers that I need to cut along with all the material that I need to create the layout. Otherwise I am pretty plain Jane in my layouts. I generally print my photos in bulk through Shutterfly when they have a special and if there are layouts that I want to create right away after I have snapped a photo I use my Selphy. All in all I am simple girl just trying to teach people how to get the photos off of their phones and into albums.
That’s it for me in this blog post next Monday 3 other creative people will share with you what they are all about. Let me introduce you to them.
