I am going to share something with you all that you might not know about me. I am a teacher at my local college and I absolutely love teaching. I have a Master’s degree in business and I love all things business. I am truly a tech and business nerd along with my love for scrapbooking. Who would’ve thought that my scrappy, messy creative self also loves business. With that being said it is in my nature to always want to learn something new or how I can better myself.
Something that I preach to my students is that they should always strive for lifelong learning as you can always learn something new. I believe that if you stop learning then you are not truly living because how can you evolve and grow into something better if you are not always learning.
A few months ago I took April Bowles-Olin’s creative live course and I learned tons of new things that I could do to make my site better and profitable. Since then I have been making changes with my site and with me. My goal has always been to turn my site into a profitable site. Since I have been home with the baby this goal has been in the forefront of my mind. You can read about my experience with April’s first class HERE. With that being said I am truly excited about April’s next class that is going to be on Creative Live next month.
One of the things that April is going to be teaching in this course is how to create digital product that will sell while I sleep. I don’t know about you but this just gives me goosebumps because I want to know how to create product that is going to sell while I sleep. You see my goal has always been to teach my readers how to get the photos off of their phones and into albums quickly and easily whether you scrap digitally or traditionally all those photos need to come off of your phones and get put into albums. Still many people take tons of photos and leave them on their phones just sitting their. What is the point of that? Why take tons of photos and not put them in an album? Why are you leaving these photos stuck in cyber world through Facebook and Instagram? Great you took a photo and you shared it on Facebook or Instagram but now what? What are you going to do with those photos, leave them there until you die and then your photos die with you because those accounts get closed? What is the end result of you taking all these photos? For me I want my children to know what I thought about our lives. I want them to have something tangible that they can hold onto when I am gone. I also scrap because it is a creative outlet for me and the nerdy side of me loves all the tools but that’s a whole other story!
DON’T LEAVE YOUR PHOTOS IN CYBER WORLD!
Now that my rant is over. My goal has always been to create classes that you will buy so that you can get these photos into albums quickly and easily. Their are so many ways that you can get those photos off of your phones and into albums but many people are under the assumption that scrapbooking takes to long or costs to much money or they arent creative enough. I know how to change people’s thoughts on this subject. I know how to show people that these myths are simply not true but I don’t get paid to show people that these myths are not true.
FEAR HAS BEEN LEADING ME FOR FAR TO LONG
The problem is that I have all these ideas on how to teach people to get the photos off of their phones but I never follow through with them. Their are many different reasons why but the biggest reason is fear. I am afraid to put myself out there. I am afraid that I will do all this work and then no one will purchase my class. I am afraid to come off as a sales person and end up making my readers feel like I am pressuring them to buy something. In order for this site to become profitable I am going to have to put my fears aside.
I am on to the positive thoughts now which are I can do this! I have a great class in the works that I have already started creating and I am looking forward to launching it next month. In this class I will be teaching you many techniques that you can use to get those photos off of your phones and into albums quickly and easily. I am excited about this class and I can’t wait to launch it. Most importantly I can’t wait to hear how April is going to teach me how to make my digital product sell while I sleep.
