School is out, I now have a 1st grader and a 10th grader. I can’t believe that school is over. School actually ended last Thursday for us and I quickly threw together a quick present for my daughter’s teacher.
To the rescue was my Cricut and the Art Philosphy cartridge. I decided to make my daughter’s teacher a small set of cards that she could use for any occasion. I cut this cute little bag with Skylark paper from Close To My Heart.
The next thing I did was make up 3×3 cards and envelopes. I did this using all my scrap paper that I had laying around along with my Close To My Heart stamps. It truly is amazing how a stamp can dress up any project. The envelope punch board made it super easy to get the envelopes made as well. I came up with 3 different designs that I made to go into the little bag.
After I made these cute little cards up I also needed to make a thank you card for her teacher as well. I have been loving the Sun Burst Cards and had a bunch of scraps from the Free To Be Me paper pack. I used my stamp that came with my Cricut Art Philosphy cartridge and one of the matching chipboard pieces that came with it as well.
The last thing that I had to do was work on the pot that was being used to create a tree that the students were presenting to her. I used my Cricut once again and paper from the Free To Be Me paper pack. I have never had paper that cut better in my Cricut then the Close To My Heart paper and I am not just saying that because I am a consultant. It doesn’t matter if it is patterned paper or cardstock I do not get any tears or rips or have any problems getting my Cricut to cut what I need with this paper.
I cut out the words Sowing the Seeds of Learning on my Cricut and then mod podged them onto the pot with outdoor mod podge. I did 3 coats of mod podge and the paper held up perfectly. I was very pleased with the final product.
Did you make any teacher gifts this year?
