Embossing & Circles Make a Cute Card

Last challenge for the month of January for Party Time Tuesdays! I can’t believe that January is almost over. So this weeks challenge was anything goes. I had a ton of fun coloring this stamp from Paper Shelter. I think the little girl on the moon is just adorable. I then used my creative memories custom cutting system. I have had this cutting system for over 10 years and I still love using it! I cut out my colored and stamped image in a circle and then I cut out a piece of pink and purple cardstock into a circle.

Next I embossed my circles with the Sizzix Hearts embossing folder. I then punched out some hearts and embossed those hearts as well. I adhered the pink circle and then the purple circle and then my stamped image. I adhered them all off centered so that you could see the embossing on each circle. Next I adhered my punched hearts in the corners and lastly I used my Hero Arts stamp to stamp my sentiment.

The base of my card is a 6×6 which is made from a piece of cardstock that is 6×12 and scored at the 6 and folded in half.

  1. Beth, this is adorable! I like how it looks like the image is a shooting star! Very cute!

  2. That is a cute card. I like the embossing. It does another element to the card to make it unique.

  3. I love scrapbooking and I so Wish I did it more. My friends have made me beautiful cards and I look at my store book cards with disgust. I just feel it means so much more when you created it with your own hands.
Thank you for sharing your gift.

  4. I love paper as well and although I have a focus on other art mediums with my beading/jewelry business, the quick projects are great to do for a change of pace or if I need to make a special card to go along with a gift. I love the embossing process because I love texture. Adding texture sure gives paper an exciting look. Happy creating! I can appreciate the whole creative process of scrapbooking and card-making.

  5. So beautiful! I wish I had more time to spend scrapbooking and creating cards and notes. It’s something that I’ve always loved but once I started my own business, it took a back seat to everything else.

    Thanks so much,

    • Hi Cheryl, Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment. You should always make time to do something that you love to do. Even if its only for 10 minutes a day :)
