I love mini albums and I wanted to make something to use up the Heartstrings paper and PML cards that I have sitting around my scrap area. I came up with this great idea to make a mini album for the Listers Gotta List July challenge and I love the way it turned out.
I grabbed the idea for the album from My Sisters Scrapper and I went to work creating this little mini album. The first thing I did was create the base and then I covered everything with some of the Heartstrings paper and inked all the edges with some Distress Ink (Victorian Velvet). Then I went to work on making the pockets for the album which I then also covered with paper. After all the pockets were made I added a PML card to the back and front of each pocket. I figured that this would be the area that I write my lists on.
Lastly I broke out the computer and Design Space so that I could create the inserts for my pockets. I used the Elegant Edges cartridge which I love using for mini albums and created 6 different inserts using the Heartstrings paper. Now I know you have heard me talk about how much I love my Cricut Explore before but have I told you how much I love the Cricut app?! I managed to create my page inserts on my phone while the baby was taking a nap and then cut them a little bit later in the day. The iPad app has been out for a while now but for me the iPhone app makes my life a whole lot easier because I often find myself in situations where there is a child sleeping on me.
Design Space plus my iPhone, iPad or my computer truly make it so much easier for me to get my 15 minutes of creative time in every day. I know that if I am able to create a cut file and save it to my phone then I am able to cut out my images quickly and easily and actually use my crafty time to get crafty.
With Design Space, you can start designing from scratch on your computer, iPhone® or iPad®, or you can use a pre-designed, Make It Now™ project. These ready-to-make projects are created by professional artists and include everything from home décor to fashion to paper crafting, and even a variety of FREE projects.
If you want to use one of Cricut’s 50K+ images, you can try them out in the Design Space to see which will look best in your project before you commit to purchasing it.
Really the possibilities are endless with my Cricut Explore, Design Space and my iPhone. Just check out this little walk through of my mini album and see how cute and adorable it is.
