My friend Carole over at Scrapbook Campus had this wonderful idea to share cards and envelope templates with her friends. The idea was to share how these templates could be used in paintshop pro as well as with some good ole paper or digitally or anyway that us friends that would work.
Carole has sent a different template to each of her friends for the first 12 days of December and their have been so amazing tutorials already. You can sign up on her website and you will get a link to each template in your email. If you sign up today, tomorrow will be your first email, but Carole will have a link to all twelve card and envelope templates available at the end of the series.

This is the template I worked with:
For my card I wanted to use the Art Philisophy cartridge from Close To My Heart and one of the coordinating stamp sets. I designed my entire card in Design Space and cut it out. The next thing for me to do was stamp my ornaments. Now here is where the tutorial comes into play. I cut out this intricate snowflake design to incorporate into my card and wanted to adhere it without making a mess. This is where I decided to break my trusty sewing machine out.
You can grab the cut file that I created for the card by clicking here. I currently only have a cut file for Design Space but if you are interested in a cut file for the Craft Room I would be happy to whip it up for you.
I used a light blue thread but only because I didn’t already have a bobbin ready for my dark blue thread and I craft on a limited time basis with the baby. The next step was to stamp my ornaments and adhere them to the card.
I used some embroidery thread to make it look like the ornaments were hanging and this is the step that I should have completed before I pasted my insides down. Instead I used my mini stapler and adhered the string to the card. I think it came out just fine.
Here is the inside of the card that I stamped with a stamp from the Snowhaven Card Workshop on the Go in Glacier ink.
Next step was to make an envelope. For this I just grabbed my envelope punch board and some pretty sonwflake patterened paper. For the inside of the envelope I misted my paper with Heidi Swapp’ Mint Green color shine (I love this stuff by the way). This way it won’t just be plain white when someone takes the card out.
Last but not least here is the front of my envelope. Just an FYI, don’t make this size envelope to mail out otherwise you will have to pay extra money. I figured this card would be good for someone local to me.
P.S. The deal of the century is still available at Close To My Heart right now where you can get any C or D sized stamp for only $10 with any $50 dollar order.
