Ahhhhh Mother’s Day is over and I had a ton of fun creating this mini album for mom. I have been meaning to do something like this for a long time for her and finally made it happen. I used my Cricut and my awesome Cinch to make this mini album along with the beautiful paper from Close To My Heart that is only available this month as a special for National Scrapbooking Month. I’ve already shown a layout that I have created with this paper pack and now I have made a mini album with the same paper pack and mind you I still have some paper left over. I must say for $8.95 this is a great deal and the more I play with the paper the more I like it.
I cut 25 different designs to make the mini album and added in 4 pockets as well as the chipboard pieces for front and back cover. I had originally planned to make the album a 6×6 but I was way to lazy for all that. You see a 6×6 album size would have had to have each piece of paper cut individually. I changed the album to 5.5×5.5 and I was able to cut 4 pieces at one time. The album is definitely a mini album but it worked out for the best. The front and back covers are 6×6 which makes them a tad larger than the actual album.
I used scor-tape to adhere the designer paper to the white daisy cardstock and I also used scor-tape to adhere the paper to the chipboard so that the chipboard would be all nice and pretty. After I gave the mini album to my mom she decided that she is going to turn it into a recipe book so that I will have it back at some point with all my favorite recipes from her, this way we both get a Mother’s Day present out of it.
Here is a short video that I did sharing my cute little mini album with you. I also made her a cute little box from SVGcuts along with some crocheted wash cloths in it as she has been asking me to make her new ones forever.
Of course I forgot to take a picture of everything that I made for her but the gift box that I used from SVGcuts comes from Mom’s Garden Gifts cut file.
