October is here and Halloween is right around the corner.
Last month I participated in two swaps from the project life card swap. I think I’m addicted to swapping at this point! I participated in whoo loves owls and vintage Halloween. These are two of my favorite things.
For the owl swap I used a regular Becky Higgins 3×4 journal card and my CTMH stamps, pigment ink, embossing powder, washi tape and a butterfly punch. Geesshh when you type it all out it seems like I used a lot of different things but when you look at the card it doesn’t seem like I used all that. I started with stamping the owl and the You & Me on to the card with my pigment ink, I then heat embossed the images. After i was done I felt the card was a little plain so I added washi tape to the side of it. Next I washi taped a piece of scrap paper and punched the butterfly out. After that, I was all done and I am very happy with the way the owl turned out.
Now for the vintage Halloween card I put my crochet skills to use and crocheted little spider webs to go on to the card. I then used one of my CTMH stamp sets and created some word art with them to stamp some Halloween sayings on the card. I also used my Creative Memories border punch and some washi tape. I really enjoyed crocheting the spider webs for these cards!
Both of these project life cards came together fairly quickly for me. Sometimes I have an idea in my head but then when I put it to paper it doesn’t look the same. If you project life have you been making any of your own cards or do simply stick to the kits?
P.S. If you are interested in learning how to crochet I taught myself by taking this class. I am so glad that I have learned how to crochet as it is now one of my favorite hobbies.
