Multiple Photo Layout

I have said it before and I will say it again I hardly ever create a layout with only one photo. I created a two page layout with 6 photos total. I did 3 photos per page. I took all these photos basically one right after the other a few years ago when I bought my Nikon D5000 which I am still in love with by the way.

So this is really just a quick post to show you how quickly a layout can be brought together and completed.

2 page layout

I didn’t journal too much on this layout. I really think the photos speak for themselves. My daughter was 2 years old in these photos. Now she is 5 I still miss that baby face!

Even though I scrapbook chronologically it doesn’t mean that I scrapbook on time. I am ok with being behind in my scrapbook because for me I just think of it as looking back at the memories that we created.

P.S. There are only a few Load213 class spots left so if you are looking for some amazing inspiration and a life changing event then you should sign up for this amazing class that will be starting 2/1/13!!

Also check out this amazing scrapbooking book that is full of inspiration and ideas of how to scrapbook. I participated in the blog hop this morning of some of the woman who are published in this book and already have tons of ideas swimming around in my head of layouts that I want to create.

Memorabilia Storage

There are many ways to store memorabilia. I personally have mine in a file cabinet that has all the things that I felt have been worthy of saving my children’s school years. A friend of mine shared this tip with me over the weekend and I thought it was a lovely idea. You can get crates for cheap at amazon.

Then all you need is 12 hanging file folders. I would use the 12×12 size ones as sometimes your young ones have larger pieces of paper that you would like to keep. I personally like these.

Label them from kindergarten to 12th grade and you are good to go. I would probably start this at the preschool age because the kids tend to make really cute stuff in preschool as well!  I think that I am going to do this for my two monsters and put them in an area of the house that can be easily accessible. I don’t generally put school memorabilia in my scrapbooks because there tends to be too much stuff during the year that comes home especially when the kids are in elementary school. Plus my yearly albums are already packed with layouts from our year! I do put memorabilia from trips that we have gone on throughout the year in our yearly album so this idea would only be used for their school stuff.

How do you keep your memorabilia from your kids schools?

Ideas on Organization!

Organizing your scrapbooking products is key if you are going to be able to find your scrapbooking products and get your albums done. I am currently working with a small area for all my scrapbooking needs but I have organized it to the best of my ability for now. I have found many inspiration pieces that I want when I move to a bigger house. I wanted to share some of my ideas with you and get some of your opinions on the pieces that I am thinking about purchasing at some point in my life :) These are just a few of my wants and I have them all posted on pinterest as well so feel free to check me out on pinterest!!! This desk is my favorite and I think any scrapbooker would love it.
